Christmas Eve

Here are Alex and Aubrey opening their Christmas pajamas after church on Christmas Eve.
(Notice Aubrey's first haircut from someone other than me. We went earlier in the day. Completely spur of the moment.)
Can you see how much Aubrey loves Dora?
Alex likes Thomas the Train.
Checking out their pajamas.
After the pajamas were on, it was time for bed. Alex and Aubrey left cookies for Santa and raisins for the reindeer (we forgot to buy carrots at the store and we thought the reindeer might be tired of carrots by the time they got to our house.)

Nativity

Aunt Andrea gave us this cute nativity for Christmas. We put it under our tree. Alex and Aubrey have enjoyed playing with it. Dave and I have enjoyed using it to tell the Christmas story.

Can you tell who the boss is in our family?

Opening Presents with Family in Michigan

The weekend before Christmas, we were up in Michigan to visit my family. They were very generous with their gifts for all of us. Alex and Aubrey had so much fun with all the presents.

Aubrey and Grammie. This is one of my favorite pictures.

Alex have a great time opening presents.

Neala's Family

Here is our attempt at a family picture. It looks pretty good considering we had to work with a self timing camera and 2 toddlers who really didn't want their picture taken (oh and 2 dogs who wanted to be in the picture too). But I like it anyway.

My sister Andrea, Dave, Alex, my Mom, Aubrey, my brother Paul, me, and my sister Kendra

We miss them all and wish we could see them more often than a couple times a year.

Aubrey

Ghatool gave us this scarf for Aubrey from her trip to Saudi Arabia. I already posted pictures of Alex's outfit but I didn't get a good picture of Aubrey's. So here it is. Thank you Ghatool!!!

Getting There

Earlier this month my laptop died, so we ordered a replacement. It came in the mail Dec 23rd. So in my little spare time these last few days, I have been trying to get my old pictures from my backup drive onto the new laptop. Finally that task is complete and I also have the more recent pictures from Christmas on the laptop as well. This took much longer than I thought. So even though the pictures are all ready to go, I am exhausted and ready for bed. All my family and friends who read this blog will have to wait a few more days until I get the Christmas pictures on the blog.

However, I do have a few minutes to add that Alex and Aubrey had a wonderful Christmas. On Christmas Eve, we ventured out in the cold to walk to get a sandwich at Subway. It was a beautiful walk and we were all bundled up so it didn't seem too cold. Next to Subway is a hair cutting place. So at the last minute, we decided to get Aubrey's hair cut. This was her first real hair cut at a salon. She did so well sitting there. I think she liked all the attention she was getting. Her hair is a little short, but makes her look cute. After we got back home, we got ready for Christmas Eve Service at my church. On Christmas morning, Alex and Aubrey were so excited to see all their presents under the tree. They had a great time opening each one. Dave and I were so happy to see the excitement in their faces. The smiles and laughs were wonderful.

Well now to bed. Back to work tomorrow. If only the spirit of Christmas could last all year long.

Here is our Christmas Picture

Alex

(Aubrey has a pretty scarf, but her pictures didn't turn out. I will have to try again.)

Decorating the Christmas Tree

Last weekend we set up our Christmas tree. Aubrey insisted on putting all the candy canes on one branch (until they fell off). Alex just liked checking out all the ornaments.

Gifts in the Mail from Grammie

Grammie (Neala's Mom) found these great gifts at a second hand store and they have been a hit.

Alex loves his dinosaurs and put them on the train we already have to take them for a ride (like his favorite cartoon Dinosuar Train).

Aubrey has enjoyed dancing around in her tinkerbell outfit with butterfly wings. Luckily it fits over her clothes because it's been kind of cold here lately.

Chicken on a Plate

Aubrey got herself all ready for some chicken on a plate.

Greensboro Zoo

While visiting Nanny (Dave's Mom), we went to the Greensboro Zoo. Alex and Aubrey loved seeing the animals. I think we were all impressed by the tiger. It came so close to us. Of course, there was a thick glass between us and the tiger.

Playing in the Leaves

A week or so ago, we raked up some of the leaves and put them in a pile before bagging them up. Alex and Aubrey had a lot of fun playing in the leaves.

Halloween Tails

Here are their cute Halloween tails. I forgot to get pictures of their tails on Halloween Day, so Alex and Aubrey got all dressed up the other day to show off their tails. Thank you Mom for your hard work. Alex and Aubrey were the cutest monkey and giraffe out there. At least in my opinion.

Greensboro Children's Museum

On Friday after Thanksgiving we went to the Greensboro Children's Museum with Dave's Mom. Alex and Aubrey had a great time. I hope we can go back again when we are down there visiting Dave's Family.

Tree Trimming

This morning, we trimmed some of the trees outside in the front yard. We borrowed a friends truck and loaded all the limbs in the back and then Dave took them to the dump.

We had to stomp down the branches on the truck so that we could fit a few more.
Aubrey wanted to help.

Alex was a good helper and helped us carry the braches to the car.

Here they are watching Dave cut the tree.

You can't really see, but here is Dave trimming the tree. He is on the other side.

Aubrey just enjoying playing in the front yard on such a beautiful fall morning.

Diapers.com Advertisement

I usually buy my diapers through a website called diapers.com. It may not be the cheapest way to order diapers, but the convenience outways the cost. They come shipped to our house and the shipping is free. This morning Alex and Aubrey decided to put all their diapers in the Diapers.com box and hang out for a while. I thought this might make a good Diapers.com advertisement. : )
