Tired

After we got back from Disney on Ice, Alex and Dave took a short little nap.

 

Popular Characters on Frozen Water

A week ago we went to Disney on Ice.  The kids loved it.  They had a good time.



Aubrey was so happy to see Rapunzel on the ice and Alex got really excited to see Mickey Mouse, Minne Mouse and my favorite, Donald Duck.

(I tried to come up with a title for the blog that didn't say Disney on Ice...don't want my blog popping up when people google it.  So "Popular Characters on Frozen Water" is what I came up with.)

A Boy and His Trains

Alex is still in love with his trains.  Sometimes he takes a break from them, but he always comes back to them.  They are his favorite toy.
 

 

Hiking in February

I sometimes forget that the best time to go for a hike in this area is in February.  On Saturday, all four of us bundled up and took a three mile hike on a trail that we had never tried before.   We had fun and hope to go back there again.  The kids did great and had fun along the way...although I know they were glad to see the car at the end and the special snack they were promised.
 

Sledding in Virginia

We finally got some snow a week ago.  Not much, but we got some snow.  Most of my Michigan friends and family will probably laugh at these pictures due to the lack of real snow, but down here, you do what you have to do.  We didn't have any snow last year and I am not sure if we will have anymore this year, so we decided this was enough to try some sledding.

I was there too....can you tell I was a little cold.

But after many times down, both Alex and Aubrey said that they were tired of walking up the hill back to the top. So Dave pulled them back home on the sled. Of course, hot chocolate and marshmallows were necessary to warm them up.

By the way, we do occasionally get a lot of snow here, but not very often.  Check out these pictures from a couple years ago.

Zoo, Zoo, Zoo

A few weeks ago (I am a tiny bit behind), Alex, Aubrey, and I took a trip to the zoo. (Dave was riding his bike out in the country with a friend of his.)  The weather was really nice for January (no mittens or hats needed).     They even have a new carousal there, so we all took a ride.  After the carousal, we viewed the Lions, Tigers, Elephants, Orangutans crossing from one building to another, and we even got to see the Giant Panda out in his yard.
