Olympic Distance Triathlon

In April, I competed in my first Olympic Distance Triathlon.  I trained really hard and long and am thankful to Dave for helping me along the way.   I was really happy with my times at the end and I ended up in 3rd place in my age group.  And yes, there were more than 3 people in my age group.  : )

Even though I placed, the best part of the day was having Dave, Alex, and Aubrey there to cheer me on.   I know they were bored at times, but when I came by they cheered me on.  : )

 

 

 

I am now registered for a half ironman triathlon.  Here I go!

 

 

Mountain Climbing

Back in April, during the kid's spring break from school, we took a hike up on Stone Mountain.  The kids were troopers.   We took a long climb up one side of the hill and then took the hundreds and hundreds of steps back down the other side.   Originally it was just supposed to be just Dave and the kids and at the last minute, I took the day off and went with them.  I am so glad I did.  It was a great way to spend the day as a family.

 

 

 

 

Daddy Daughter Dance

Back in March, Aubrey went to a Girl Scout Dance with her Dad.  She had such a great time and wants to go back again next year.   Here are some pictures before the dance.

 

 

So that left Alex and I at home.  I asked him what he wanted to do thinking he might like Chuck-e-Cheese, going to a restaurant, or some other fun thing.   Who would have thought that all he wanted to do was go and pick up Chinese and bring it back home.   We then had fun playing games together.   

 

All of us created great memories.

(Although a few months later, I asked Alex if he remembered this and he said..."Did you really say we could go to Chuck-e-Cheese?" )

Easter Sunday

On Easter morning, the kids were happy to see what was in their baskets.  We were glad that Jamison was able to come and spend the day with us.  

 

 

 

 

 

 

In the afternoon, we went over to Nanny's (Dave's Mom) house to celebrate with her. Here is a picture of Nanny and a few of her Grandkids.

Neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt

This is the sight at our front door when you have a visit from someone with a broken left foot (Kendra), someone with a broken right foot (Andrea), and a three year old (Olivia).  Just made me laugh every time I saw it, so I had to take a picture.

Visit from Aunt Kendra, Aunt Andrea, Olivia and Johnna

Back in March, my sisters, Kendra and Andrea, and Kendra's daughters, Olivia and Johnna came for a visit.  We are so glad that they came.   Kendra and Andrea each had a broken foot so they were off of work for a few weeks.  Andrea broke her left foot so she was able to drive down.  Kendra broke her right foot so she was the passenger along with her kids.   I am so glad that they all made it here safely and that they were able to come down before they had to go back to work.

 

One of the days during their visit, Alex and Aubrey had to go to school, so the five of us took a trip to a nearby Science Center.    Fortunately, the Science Center is pretty small and Kendra and Andrea were in walking casts so we were able to walk around a little bit.

Second Snowfall Fun

We got outside on the second snow day and had fun.  This snow was a great snowman building snow.   Alex, Aubrey, and I attempted a snowman and this is what we got.  They also had fun making snow angels.

 

 

 

 

 

Pretty Snow with our Second Snow Fall

Our second North Carolina snow came on Feb 26th.  It was such a pretty snow.  It was one of those snows that covers the trees and just makes it look so nice and clean.
